    1. Benjamin & Reuben Reynolds, WV
    2. Betty Briggs
    3. My Reynolds line is in West Virginia. Reuben Reynolds, born abt 1784, married Jean Tanner in Harrison Co, (W)Va 10/31/1805. I find them in Lewis and Kanawha Co records, Reuben's will is recorded in Jackson Co in 1840 and he is mentioned in books about Jackson and Roane Counties. These records lead me to believe that his father is Benjamin, born 1759 in Richmond Co. Benjamin filed a claim for service in the Revolutionary War but was denied because he had no proof, and there is a lot of info in that claim. He moved from Richmond Co to Harrison Co in 1809, and died after 1833, in Lewis Co or possibly in Jackson Co. Hard to tell with the county boundaries changing whether he moved or the boundaries did, and I have not pinpointed where Reuben's property was. In 1830, Reuben was enumerated in Kanawha Co and had a male age 60-70 in the household. We assume this was Benjamin We're fairly sure that Benjamin was the son of Robert Reynolds and Ann White. At least they had a son Benjamin, born 1859, and we find the names Reuben and Vincent in this family, and Reuben named 2 of his sons Vincent and Benjamin. If my Ben is this son, then we connect to Christopher, but it would be nice to have other ideas, proof, etc. Betty www.wvpioneers.com

His father John B ? married Nancy Chase 1831 His father Henry b? married Sarah Hinckley 1745 Supposedly the Tillman book has the family information, but after Richard I am STUCK. 1. Reynolds DNA project
    2. richard reynolds
    3. Yes, Michele. I'm a participant in the Reynolds DNA project. I submitted my line yesterday (Nathaniel Reynolds, b. c1770 in Bedford Co., VA. According to Tillman's book Nathaniel was descended from immigrant Christopher Reynolds through an all-Virginia line. I've had two close matches in the DNA project, with probability there's a common ancestor in the 1600's or 1700's. Both matches trace their ancestry to NC or TN, suggesting that Tillman's pedigree may be wrong. The more surname Reynolds males who participate, the better we can sort out early American pedigrees accurately, and I certainly recommend participation. I'd especially like to see someone enroll who has a proved lineage to immigrant Christopher Reynolds. Michele's email has the link to the project, but anyone who's interested can contact me direct. 1. Re: [Reynolds] Roll Call
    2. My closest Reynolds ancestor is Adeline (Addie) Maud Reynolds. She was born 21 MAY 1889 in Easton, Bristol County, Massachusetts, and died 19 JUL 1932 in Avon Lake, Lorain County, Ohio. She was buried 21 JUL 1932 in Lakewood Park Cemetary (22025 Detroit Rd, Rocky River, Ohio). She was the daughter of John M. Reynolds and Martha J.. She married Edward H. Barnes, son of Edward Barnes and Sarah A. [Barnes]. He was born 1876 in Taunton, Bristol County, Massachusetts, and died 1946 in Avon Lake, Ohio. He was buried 1946 in Lakewood Park Cemetary. I have traced the Addie Reynolds line back to Isaac Reynolds (born 1688 in Middleboro, Plymouth Co, Massachusetts) and Dorothy Seekins (born 1684 in Middleboro, Plymouth Co, Massachusetts). I am stuck finding the maiden name of Addie Reynolds' mother, Martha J. (wife of John M Reynolds). Martha J was born in FEB 1864 in Rhode Island or Massachusetts. She died between 1910 AND 1920 in or near Providence, Rhode Island. Any assistance would be appreciated.
