I have been searching for years for a Sarah Jane or a Nancy Jane Reynolds born in the 1840's state unknown. She went by Jane on the records I have of hers. Her parents are unknown. Places she has been said to have been born via census records are: PA, IL and MO. Her father & mother from N.C. All very confusing. I first found her in the 1880 Desha Cty., AR census married to a John Foley with children James and John. I am also looking for marriage record of Jane and John Foley probably married in the late 1860's to very early 1870. By 1885 she was a widow and married a John Doyle and had a daughter Maggie now living in Cape Girardeau, MO. I am also looking for that marriage record. She died there in 1907. No obit or death cert. is available on her. Hope someone can help me with this lineage. Laura S.

George was born about 1826 and Burr about 1830, both in Ohio to George S. Reynolds and Abigail Kemball. In 1835 George S. Reynolds moved his family to Van Buren County, Michigan. His wife, Abigail, had died in Ohio. The last record I have of George H. is in the 1860 US Census for St. Joseph, Berrien Co., Michigan. He is living with Benjamin and Cynthia Kingsley, his age is 34 and his occupation is "Sailor". On the 4th of August 1861, Burr H. married Jane Fitzgerald in St. Joseph. The last record I have of them is a deed, dated the 21st of Feb. 1870 and they are living in South Haven, Van Buren Co., Michigan. If any one has any information on these two brothers, it would be appreciated, as I have run into a wall. Thanks.

Reynolds and Margaret Luke on the 15th of March 1858. Jay's mother died when he was only four years old. Jay stayed with his father for a couple of years but then was sent to live with Henry Baker and his family. Jay is listed in the 1870 US Census with the Baker family, living in Ionia Twp., Ionia Co., Michigan. I lose track of Jay after then until he appears in the 1900 US Census for Bemidji, Beltrami County, Minnesota. He is single and is a "lawyer". On the 14th of August 1901, Jay marries Dixie Smith, a teacher. In 1908, Jay and Dixie are near Spokane, Washington where they have a daughter, Elizabeth (Betty), who is born on the 20th of March. By 1915, Jay and family are in Pasadena, California, where he continued to work as a lawyer. Jay died on the 26th of January 1935, in Los Angeles of carcinoma of the stomach. Dixie, his wife, had passed away before him, but do not know the d! ate. I believe, Jay and Dixie had more children than Betty, but do not know any names. I have a picture of Jay with four girls. The picture looks like a "Christmas" photo as Jay is dressed up to look like Santa and the girls all have "wings" on. I would love to be able to fill in the missing years and know more about his children and wife. If any one can help with any info, it would be greatly appreciated. Jay wrote a short biography about his father, George S. Reynolds, before he died and I would like to share it with any of his descendents.
