All the information I have on Charles Leverett Reynolds is that he was born in February 1862 and that he was a lath sawyer. This information came from the 1900 census for Whitneyville ME. As for siblings, I don't know of any. If you should findout more in your travels I'd appreciate hearing from you again. Best Regards, Kim White

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TJDBAIB/3564.1.2.1.2.1 Message Board Post: Thank you for your information. I too thought I recognized your name. I am a descendant of Levi Burt, the last child born of James Burt and Eliza Ann. I have not discovered what happened to Emeline. I know she married Eli Pond in 1830,but in the 1850 Census he has a different wife and is living is Iowa near Emeline's half brothers. I know he had property in Hancock county Indiana and thought that that might be where she died, but cannot find any record of such. I had another e-mail from a lady who found their marriage record in Fayette County and then a listing 19 years later for a Elizabeth K. Pond marrying in Franklin County, so will have to rethink my research. Perhaps Elizabeth is a daughter? Will require further research. I have copies of the Orphans court records regarding Newmans second family and it appears that Eleanor did get most everything. I also have copies of the pension records for James Burt in the War of 1812. He did not serve long but had a packet. There are also a lot of land records for both Newman and James Burt. In my research I have tried to back door this family by looking for Salisbury. He appears on the 1850 Census but is gone after that, but I have land records that shows he was still in touch with his half nephews about land still back in Maryland. I have not completely finished deceiphering this info, some of the writing is very difficult, but do have these in my files. This is a very interesting family, and would love to solve the questions that keep coming up. Oh well, that is what we live for--Family. Will keep in touch and do appreciate your time and information. Sue

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TJDBAIB/3564.1.2.1.2 Message Board Post: You certainly aren't the only descendant of James Burt. ha.ha. My grandfather Isaiah Parker had 17 children from 2 wives here in Johnson County, Ia. They were real pioneers when they came to Iowa from Indiana. Some of the things in the Early History of Johnson County about some of hardships, like having salt for winter and having to go so far for it and to get grain ground for flour. I think we have e-mailed before. Did you ever find out what happened to Emeline Johnson after she married Eli Pond and lived in Davis Co. Iowa. Of course Eliza Ann died her in Johnson Co. November 1855. The information I have on James Burt's father was Neunom and yes that Neunom was married twice. I have children of Neunon, by second marriage to Eleanor Kimball to be Robert S. and Salisbury. There were also 4 daughters. He was married to Rebecca Smith, who is James' Burt's mother. There was another brother named Robert and 5 sisters. Rebecca died in 1799. My cousin was at the Maryland Archives she found Neunom's will. It appears that Eleanor inherited everything and nothing went to his prior family. Her children were still minors when Neunom died, right after the war of 1812. She also found regiment records for James Burt, his brother Robert, and father Neunom in Queen Anne County. They lived outside of Centerville in the Island 100 area. One other info that I over looked goes back to Neunom Reynolds saying by his first wife he had James Burt and by his second wife he had two sons, one of whom was the father of Rev. J. C. Reynolds of Missouri, a christian preacher. I have the children of James Burt and the children of Neunom Wesley and of course Isaiah Parker my grandfather. May I ask which of James' Burt are you decended from? Leona
