John Benjamin Reynolds was the first husband of my father's grandmother (After his death, she married Sewell Spaulding Maxson, my gg grandfather). Susan Belle Davis and John Benjamin Reynolds were both born in Verona, Oneida County, New York. She was born in 1836 and he in 1830. The children I have records for are: Anna Marie Lester Benjamin? perhaps born in Lewis County, NY? He apparently died in infancy? Lewis Laverne Ella Ursula I am in contact with the descendants of Anna Marie, Lewis Laverne and Ella Ursula. I have no real knowledge of Lester Benjamin. How do you happen to have knowledge of Susan Belle and John Benjamin Reynolds? I have research notes from Benjamin's descendant. Would love to send them to you and hear what you know about Benjamin. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/TJDBAIB/3696 Message Board Post: I recently purchased a wonderful old studio photograph of "Leona Virginia Alvina Reynolds" at an antique shop in St. Charles, IL. I enjoy rescuing lovely old pictures like these from antique shops and locating descendants/family members so that I can re-unite the pictures, for only my costs, with people who will treasure them. The photo was taken of Leona at the age of 2 months, 5 days, per the handwriting on the back. It is my estimate that it was taken in about 1905, give or take a few years. The picture is an oval of 4" x 5-1/2", and mounted in a heavy cardboard frame of 6" x 8", as was typical during that time period. It is in very good condition and is an original (not a copy). The photo was taken by the Chelsie Studio of Chamois, MO. Leona is a cute baby, who is wearing a christening gown, and she is propped up on a pillow on a very ornate wicker chair in the photographer's studio. She has just a few wisps of hair on her head, and is darling. If you have Reynolds ancestors in your family from this time frame in Osage Co., MO, or can relate to Leona Virginia Alvina Reynolds, please Email me at [email protected] - and I will get back to you shortly.

I am looking for information on my G Grandfather James Wellington Reynolds and his parents John Reynolds and Martha Wing. Here is what I know and what stories I have heard. 1. James Wellington was born on Feb. 1, 1854 in Pennsylvania somewhere to a John Reynolds of PA and a Martha Wing of NY. (Info from death certificate.) 2. In 1880 census of Faribault County James W. Reynolds was listed as a hired hand on farm near Minnesota Lake. 3. A story I have heard is that when James went to the Dakota Territories his brother George went also. After being there awhile George left the Dakotas and headed to North or South Carolina or Georgia. 4. On Dec. 27, 1882 James married Mary E. Catlin. On the marriage certificate it stated that James was from the Dakota Territories. 5. My Grandfather Jesse Dean Reynolds was born on June 9, 1884 in/around Pariah P.O. or Park River ND. His siblings were born in North Dakota or Minnesota. 6. James died in Kelliher, MN on Aug. 6, 1922 7. In the obit of Mary E. Reynolds it stated that James was from Caledonia in Huston County, MN. Any help in information or pointing me in a direction will be greatly appreatiated. Thanks Dana Reynolds

I had been wondering if he could be a brother to my NOAH MILBURN REYNOLDS b. 1808 in either Pleasants Co. Va or Russell Co. Noah moved to Millstone, Letcher in 1850's. I believe his oldest son William Henry/Matilda Baker moved first. If you have a possible sibling list for Joseph I would apreciate it also. Thank you Christine

Does anyone have any information on a Stewart Reynolds, born about 1818 in New York, his wife Violella or Viola Ella, b. about 1819, also in New York, and or any of their children, Edwin b. about 1839, Adaline b. abt.. 1844, or "Covedon" or possibly Gordon b. abt. 1849, all in Illinois, and perhaps Stephenson Co. They are listed in the 1860 Federal Census as living in the town of Ridott. They may be linked to my Levi and Lorena Reynolds of Ripley, Chautauqua Co. N.Y. Lorena is buried in Ripley. Any news notes, Obituaries, Marriage, or birth notes on any of the above would be gratefully received, from News papers, Cemeteries, Churches, Service clubs, or court documents would be gratefully received. Also if any one has contact with a genealogist or county historian in Mt. Carroll, Ill. I should welcome such information for my contact. I am searching for a Orville Frank Reynolds, and his wife Ann E.. He was born in Ripley, N.Y. in 1833. She was born in Canada in 1838. He started his life farming. His father, Levi J. Reynolds, and his mother Mary Hill-Reynolds lived, and died in Lena in 1869 and 1889 respectively. They had a daughter in about 1860. By 1870 he was a Grocer. In 1860 they lived with a Jacobs family that were about one generation older than they were. - - possibly her Father and Mother. the mans name seems to be a "Thad T. Jacobs" born in Ireland, and the older lady was a Mary Jacobs born in Vermont. The latter were both 55 years of age in 1860, and he was a Merchant. Anyone, please help me if you can. Respectfully, Glenn G. Reynolds
