    1. [Reynolds] help!
    2. Terry Waters-Marsh
    3. Hi all, Recently I ordered the 2-volume book set "In Search of the 'Forlorn Hope'" by John Kitzmiller from Ancestry.com and the books were delivered last Monday. However, the 3 microfiche covering parts 6-11 of the book set and which are an integral part of the 2-volume set were not included in the shipment. Sadly Ancestry.com have failed to honour their order and have ripped me off the 3 microfiche. This is despite ringing them in America requesting the microfiche and sending dozens of emails to their customer support department where I provided ample evidence that proved that the 3 microfiche were part of the book set. The information I am after is on those 3 microfiche that Ancestry.com now refuse to supply with the books. Has anyone got these 3 microfiche and be willing to either lend or sell them to me? I am willing to pay a reasonable price for the microfiche if needs be. TIA. Warmest regards, Terry Waters-Marsh Senior Lecturer in Organisational Studies & HRM Central Queensland University Rockhampton Queensland 4701 Australia

    3. Sorry, I can't be of any help to you at this time. All my Reynolds appear to have originated in VA (Isle of Wight, New Kent County, Cumberland County, Rockbridge County). Of course, there may be a branch of the family I have been unable to trace at this time that may have gone to PA. Good luck and keep me in mind if you run across anything you feel might provide a connection. Ohio and is buried there in Smyrna Cemetery. He married CATHARINE KEPHART in Brown Co. O - she and most of the children ended up in Illinois. From Bethuel down I have all kinds of information on he and his children --- but m seeking his parents, siblings - ANYTHING!!! Do any of these names or places ring a bell for you. I'mm not sure he wasn't a Quaker but no proof , just a feeling. Harriet Reynolds Rariden in FL

    3. I don't seem to have a James Samuel Reynolds or an Elizabeth Tomlin in my geneaology at this time. However, that does not necessarily mean there is no connection. It is probably that I have not made the connection to date. Would be interested in any other information you might have that could possibly provide a connection. Can you provide information regarding his heritage as far back as possible? I may be able to make a connection that way. Surnames: Reynolds Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TJDBAIB/3708 Message Board Post: Granville Reynolds, a well-known and highly respected farmer of the Ninth district, died at his home near Calvert, very suddenly Wednesday afternoon, from heart trouble. He had been enjoying his usual good health up to a few hours before his death, and his sudden demise is a great shock to his relatives and friends. Mr. Reynolds was about 63 years of age and a son of the late Jacob Reynolds, of Oxford, Pa. He had lived in Cecil County nearly all his life. Two children, one son and a daughter, Mr. Earl Reynolds, of Sylmar, and Miss Reynolds, of Calvert, who kept house for her father, survive him. His wife, who was a Miss Mearns, died several years ago.

    1. [Reynolds] Master REYNOLDS, Alex Haley's ROOTS
    2. Bill King
    3. When Alex Haley was researching his family he found that the owner of Kunte Kinte was a family by the name of Waller. This family was still prominent in Spotsylvania Co., VA; Haley chose to not embarrass the Waller family and chose the family name of Reynolds as the owner of Kunte Kinte. You might question this act but you would have to know Alex Haley the man to understand the feelings that he had for others to understand why he would do this. There were Reynolds' in Spotsylvania Co. at the time but they did not own Kunte Kinte. Bill King

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/TJDBAIB/3705.2.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Margaret, I am finding that in genealogy circles the world is very small indeed. I do have a John Reynolds s/o William and Margaret born ABT 1855 in Hope Township, Durham Ontario. However that is about all I know about him. The whole family was in Hope Township in the 1861 census, but they disappear until 1881, when they materialize in Bobcaygeon, Victoria County Ontario. Unfortunately, only William, Marbeline and William H. appear in that census(William is a widower). By 1891 Charles Christopher has married and is raising a family in Bobcaygeon. Charles Christopher then moves to the Algoma Region where he is a butcher, then to Sudbury where he is a policeman. Some time between 1905 and 1911 the family travels to Vancouver. Where the boys work in the logging industry. Charles Christopher's son, Charles Edward(the family likes that name) returned to Ontario after 1929. Charles Christopher had two sisters Emma Florence Reynolds ABT b. 1886 and Mabel Effie Reynolds ABT b. 1889. If any of these names ring a bell, I would gladly share what I have. Look forward to hearing from you. Anne
