Hi All---I am searching for my 2nd grgrfather. His name was JOHN D. HALL born about 1825 in NC. He was married 2nd to my 2nd grgrmother (NARCISSA LUTON born 1839 in TN). I first find in 1850 Davie Co., NC in household #442: John D. Hall 25 M Farmer born in Davie Co. Elizabeth Hall 26 F born in Davie Co. Isabella Orten/Ortin 16 F born in Iredell Co. John B. Renshaw 25 M born in Davie Co. I also found (online) a marriage: Families in 1850 Census, Davie Co. NC HH# HEAD WIFE MAIDEN NAME MARRIAGE 0442 HALL, John D. 25 Elizabeth 26 RENSHAW, Elizabeth Davie Co. NC 1849 "IF" this Elizabeth (possibly Renshaw) is John D. Hall's first wife, then they moved to TX. as I found in the 1860 Kaufman Co., TX my 2nd grgrparents in HH# 32 (enumerated 6/12/1860): J D Hall 34 M Cabinet Maker born in NC Narcissa Hall 27 F born in TN John Hall 9 M born in NC Neely Hall 7 M born in TX Mary Hall 1 F born in TX John D. Hall and Narcissa Luton married 8/12/1858 in Kaufman Co., TX so his first wife was deceased before 1858 making John and Neely Hall (children in 1860) his children by his first wife and Mary Hall his child with Narcissa. My grgrmother (Lucy Temple Hall) was born in 1861 in Kaufman Co., TX. John D. Hall died during the Civil War in DesArc, ARK due to measles. Narcissa Luton-Hall went on to marry 3 more times (to ALL widowers). I have found numerous Renshaws from NC who moved to TX during this period. Also, many Ortin/Ortens in NC but have not made a connection with these people. I was hoping someone could help me with any of these people!!! Sincerely, Patricia
