The Office of registrar, 304 "S" Street, Sacramento, CA 95814 has births, deaths , and marriages since 1905, To verify current fees, call 916-445-2684 Prior to July 1,1905, records are available from the county recorders and the health departments of many of the larger cities. County clerks have divorce, probate, civil court, and other records. Naturalization records are kept in the county offices of the Superior Courts and in the U.S. Circuit Courts in Los Angeles and San Francisco.real estate deeds are filed in the County recorder's office. Pre-statehood lists, termed padrons, of Spanish, Mexican, and Indian residents have been published. The California State archives, room 130, 1020 "O" Street, Sacramento, CA95814, has some censuses for major California Cities from 1897 to 1938. hope this was of some help. Gwen Renshaw Maurer
