Hi Arthur, Gwen here, I just knew you would be able to set us straight on this one. Wonder if you could clear this up just a little more. Are the two surnames considered the same in England. Some times when an individual immigrated to the US, they either changed or shortened the surname. Or they sometimes added to it in the case of some Benjamin Renshaw's descendants.it is a custom of Spanish speaking countries to retain the wife or husbands surname.
