A few months ago several of us shared ideas about spelling variants for Renshaw. I think we might want to consider first name spellings also. I realize that sometimes when we join a new online site or find a freebie site, we just search for "Renshaw" and any first name. I am looking for a specific Renshaw, however, and often I type in James as the first name. Last night it occurred to me that I should be looking for Jas Renshaw and J. Renshaw also, and probably Jos Renshaw as well, since indexers sometimes confuse Jas and Jos. So, let's not forget Wm and Geo and Thos and Jno, as well as initials, when you want to or have to specify a Christian name for a search. Eleanor
