"Mrs. Jean Douglas Renshaw died at Monrovia, California on June 28, 1924. Mrs. Renshaw was quite well known in Earlham, where they resided for some time after her marriage to Mr. Renshaw in 1910. A severe accident undermined the health of both, Mr. Renshaw passing away in 1921. She remained in Earlham for some time, finally going to California in hopes of benefiting her health. She is survived by a niece, Mrs. F. E. Errington of Portland, Oregon, and one brother living at Fort Wayne, Indiana. At her request, burial was made in Hollywood Cemetery, Los Angeles, California." The "Winterset Madisonian," newspaper, July 24, 1924. [Note from Eleanor: I believe that Jean Renshaw was the third wife of Sylvester Renshaw. They were married on 2 June 1910, and Sylvester died on 5 June 1921. I think Jean or Jennie was the daugher of Alexander McDaniel and Isabelle McFee, so I am not sure where the name Douglas came from; perhaps it was her middle name rather than her maiden name, or perhaps she was married first to a man whose surname was Douglas?]
