Eleanor and List members, CAN YOU HEAR ME SCREAMING?? I don't know who ripped off who! But if you own FTM CD volume 3, look at pedigree 4091. Every piece of data in this so called new database was taken from my family tree 4091 and the info on George W. Renshaw's wife as Sarah Holman is wrong! George was married to Sarah/Susan Essick which I proved two years later. I believe I submitted this to FTM on a floppy disk about 1994. On 3/15/1995 I submitted a floppy disk to IGI with most of the same incorrect info. Neither has ever been corrected.The IGI was a hassle as I would have had to use PAF, which I was no longer using. Borderbund never provided the means to correct material submitted. I frankly don't care if these commercial outfits rip one another off. But I do very much care that us, amateur genealogists are being ripped off. We put a lot of hard work, money and time into researching our ancestors. I will also bet that much of the material in this so called data base, has been provided by members of our list. Not only RENSHAW"S but other surnames as well! What can we do about it. I don't know but I am going to post my findings to the Surname Lists I belong to. I for one can prove what I claim about this database. I still have a copy of the original Temple ready disk submitted to IGI. Would really like to hear everyone's opinion on this . Please respond via the list so we all can read your response.
