    1. [Renshaw] Renshaws on EIDB
    2. The Ellis Island Database shows quite a few Renshaws. Remember, U.S. citizens also went through Ellis Island if they vacationed in Europe and returned to New York. The processing of citizens was quite different from the treatment received by immigrants, of course. To access the database in a rapid fashion, do not use the EIDB portal. Instead, go to http://home.pacbell.net/spmorse/ellis/ellis.html The gentleman who owns this website has created a much better search engine for searching the EIDB than the one that is on the EIDB site. You will be connected automatically to the EIDB site after the search engine has done its job. From there, all bets are off Due to the number of hits daily, the EIDB site is one of the flakiest I have found. Still, it's worth a try if you have relatives who came in through the Port of New York after 1892. To give one illustration, Mr. & Mrs. Chas. E. Renshaw and several daughters (enumerated individually), all U.S. citiizens, are shown coming in on The Pennsylvania. They traveled 1st class. Ages and other interesting facts are given on many of the manifests. For help in navigating the pages, email me at egrdn@aol.com Eleanor
