    3. Eleanor, I took your variation (Reushaw) of Renshaw and checked it out on a few Census Indexes on CD-ROMs 1840-1870. Great tip everyone! In old script it is easy to take that "n" for a " u" ! Sure enough several pop up.What was interesting is that for years, I have wondered why my only two of my own Renshaw's for Chester county show up on the 1850 census index. Under the Reushaw variation they all turned up. I also looked at the Luzerne county indexes 1840-1870 since as you knew, I have been recently looking into that line of Renshaw's. Atlantick Reushaw is the son of William Renshaw of Philadelphia, I was looking for. Taking it one step farther I tried the variation " Rinshaw and turned up Elias Rinshaw of Hazelton, Luzerne County in 1850. I know for a fact by deed records that Atlantic W. , Atlantic M , Theodore, and William Renshaw all lived in Luzerne county during the years 1840-at least 1860 but do not show up under any variation of Renshaw. on the census indexes.
