    1. [Renshaw] TN> Pope Co IL ca. 1850
    2. I spent this Sunday afternoon browsing thru the Renshaw List archives for information on my particular line. I discovered several mentions of these people, and thought I might offer the information I have. By way of introduction I am a great-great granddaughter of Elijah S. Renshaw and Indiana V. Baker. Elijah's father's name is not known; his mother's first name was Mary (also known as Polly), her last name is not known. Elijah had a least one brother (John Perry) and two sisters (Sarah and Eliza). John Perry married Elizabeth Carr. Sarah married Freeman Baker, and Eliza married William Baker (Freeman's brother). I have birth, death, and marriage dates for most the descendents of these families up through the mid-1900's. I also have photos of family members dating back to the late 1800's, along with correspondence, poems, stories, written recollections, etc. I would be pleased to share any of this information with anyone having a connection to this line. What I do not have, as established earlier in this missive, is the first name of Elijah's father and the maiden name of his mother. This is my brick wall. Unsubstantiated reports mention the father was originally from Rowan NC and had died in TN, and that his first name might have been Henry (other reports mention it was also Elijah .. not the one who settled in Sangamon County). The 1850 & 1860 Censuses for Pope County show Mary (Polly) was born in Virginia. All four of the children (John Perry, Elijah, Sarah and Eliza) were born in Tennessee according to the Censuses. I look forward to hearing from other researchers on this line. If you'd like me to send the data I have as an attachment, kindly write directly to me (offlist).
