G. Hickman In the name of God Amen. I A. G. Hickman of Moreau Township in the County of Moniteau, State of Missouri being of Sound mind and disposing memory do hereby make, publish and declare this my last will and testament, and hereby revoking any and all wills by me heretofore made in manner and form following to wit l. I direct that all my just debts, my funeral expenses and the expenses of my last illness be first paid and if feasible out of my personal estate. 2. I give and bequeath to my wife Harriet Hickman all of my household and kitchen furniture and all grains, meat, vegetables, groceries and supplies and provisions as lands are provided also one good horse or mare and one cow to be selected out of the stock left after my death which selection to be made by my executor and I also give and bequeath to my said wife Harriet one thousand dollars ($l000.00) one hun- dred dollars of which shall be paid hereat my death and the remainder shall be placed in interest for her benefit by my executors and in the event that the interest and other resources are not sufficient to maintain her I direct that my executors shall pay her from time to time out of the principal such amounts as she shall need for her support. I also give, devise and bequeath to my said wife Harriet Hickman the homeplace containing sixty seven and one half (67 l/2) acres except a strip Sixteen and one half (l6 l/2) feet side off of the north Side of said tract which I give devise and bequeath to my son John Hickman for a road. I also give devise and bequeath to my said wife twenty nine acres being the west part of the South West Quarter of the South East Quarter of Section thirty (30) Township Forty five (45) of Range Sixteen (l6) all of said lands to be held during her widowhood and upon her death to be divided equally among my own children or their heirs, and also all personal property left at her death shall be divided equally between my own children or their heirs. 3. Henry Renshaw (Sr.) was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Sept. 22, 1812, and in early manhood came to New Orleans to make it his home and became one of its prominent merchants. The mother of Judge Renshaw was a native of Louisiana, born at Lake Concordia, March 21, 1819. Henry Renshaw, the subject of this sketch, was educated in New Orleans, and at Pass Christian, Miss., and at the Belmont academy, Nelson county, Va. He read law in New Orleans in the office of Clarke & Bayne, a firm of lawyers then enjoying an extensive practice. In Nov., 1866, he was admitted to practice by the supreme court of Louisiana, but continued the course of study at the law department of the University of Louisiana, now Tulane university, where he graduated in March, 1867. He became the partner of the gentlemen in whose office he had been a law student. In 1905 he was appointed by Gov. Newton C. Blanchard as judge to fill a vacancy on the bench of the First City Court in New Orleans. He was elected to succeed himself in this office in 1908, and again in 1912. He has acceptably served as a member of the court and won the reputation of an able jurist. Dec. 20, 1876, Judge Renshaw married Marie Eugenie Deynoodt, a native of New Orleans, and eldest daughter born from the marriage of Joseph Deynoodt with Miss Solidelle Le Gardeur de Tilly, a native of New Orleans. Joseph Deynoodt was born in Ghent, Belgium, and was for some time Belgian consul in New Orleans, but afterwards engaged in sugar culture in Louisiana. Judge Renshaw is a member of the Louisiana Historical society, and manifests great interest in the work to which that society is devoted. Papers from his pen appear in the publications of that society. He is possessed of literary tastes and and the local press has published compositions by him in prose and verse. In religion he is a Roman Catholic. He is a member of the Catholic Alumni sodality.     3. While researching at the PA Historical Society, in Philadelphia PA, last summer in a collection of 250 documents pertaining to RENSHAW's. I found this document that a prior researcher had recorded their findings in . Believe this John shown in Tina's is the son of John Renshaw b. 1685 and this document explains how he came to be in York County, PA. Gwen RENSHAW OF YORK COUNTY, PA AND Maryland In August 16, 1750 John Renshaw, warranted a tract of land consisting of 100 acres situated in Newberry Township York County, Pa. A caveat was entered Sept. 21,1765, against granting him a patent for same. (PA. Ar. 3rd Ser. Vol,II., p. 316) It may be that failing to secure this land in York County, PA he went over into Maryland to settle. In 1781, a John Rensher (Renshaw served in the Revolutionary War an was from York County, and received Depreciation pay for his services.(PA. Ar. 5th See. Vol. IV, p. 476: 6th Ser. Vol. II, p. 632, 785) Among the Bedford County warrantees we find John Renshaw and Charles Renshaw both of which applied for 400 acres of land in that county, July 19, 1794. (Pa. Ar. 3rd Ser. Vol, XXV p. 610) MARYLAND: The census for the state of Maryland, 1790 shows that Joseph Renshaw was living In -Harford County-with two sons over 16, one under 16, and 8 females; John Renshaw in same county, listed, himself, 1 son under 16 and four females and Philip Renshaw also in Harford County, with himself ,two sons under 16 and wife. Henry Renshaw Jr. Notes for Henry Renshaw Jr.: Renshaw, Henry, judge of the First City Court in New Orleans, was born in this city March 14, 1845, from the marriage of Henry Renshaw with Miss Eliza Ann Rebecca White. Henry Renshaw (Sr.) was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Sept. 22, 1812, and in early manhood came to New Orleans to make it his home and became one of its prominent merchants. The mother of Judge Renshaw was a native of Louisiana, born at Lake Concordia, March 21, 1819. Henry Renshaw, the subject of this sketch, was educated in New Orleans, and at Pass Christian, Miss., and at the Belmont academy, Nelson county, Va. He read law in New Orleans in the office of Clarke & Bayne, a firm of lawyers then enjoying an extensive practice. In Nov., 1866, he was admitted to practice by the supreme court of Louisiana, but continued the course of study at the law department of the University of Louisiana, now Tulane university, where he graduated in March, 1867. He became the partner of the gentlemen in whose office he had been a law student. In 1905 he was appointed by Gov. Newton C. Blanchard as judge to fill a vacancy on the bench of the First City Court in New Orleans. He was elected to succeed himself in this office in 1908, and again in 1912. He has acceptably served as a member of the court and won the reputation of an able jurist. Dec. 20, 1876, Judge Renshaw married Marie Eugenie Deynoodt, a native of New Orleans, and eldest daughter born from the marriage of Joseph Deynoodt with Miss Solidelle Le Gardeur dc Tiny, a native of New Orleans. Joseph Deynoodt was born in Ghent, Belgium, and was for some time Belgian consul in New Orleans, but afterwards engaged in sugar culture in Louisiana. Judge Renshaw is a member of the Louisiana Historical society, and manifests great interest in the work to which that society is devoted. Papers from his pen appear in the publications of that society He is possessed of literary tastes and the local press has published compositions by him in prose and verse. In religion he is a Roman Catholic. He is a member of the Catholic Alumni sodality.
