Rev Edward Reid was a minister of First Ramelton ,County Donegal,1806-1838.He was a brother of James Seaton Reid the historian who was brought up in Ramelton.James Seaton Reid became Clerk to the General Synod of Ulster,Professor of Ecclesiastical History in the Royal Belfast Institute and finally Professor of Ecclesiastical History in the University of Glasgow.Edward Reid was also the father of Sir Edward Reid ,Mayor of Londonderry on five occasions and the grandfather of the novelist Forrest Reid. Edward Reid was also Moderator of the General Synod of Ulster.I don't know if they are related to me but I thought I'd share them. Kind regards Ruth
