A while back I ordered some pension records of a Jesse REED hoping he was an ancestor of mine, but no such luck. The Civil War papers are for a Jesse REED of Effingham Co IL.According to this he enlisted July 25, 1861 and was discharged Feb. 22, 1863. He was born in Delphi, Indiana. In 1863 he was 19 years old.
