My guess would be a typo error RIED, Colonel Thomas Pyle, USMC Retired, 84, of Boca Raton, FL passed away Thursday, October 25, 2007. Born in Philadelphia April 27, 1923, Thomas graduated from Miami High School in 1941. After graduation, Thomas joined the US Marines serving during WWII in the Philippines where he was wounded and received a Purple Heart. After leaving the Marines he attended John Hopkins University graduating in 1949. After graduation, Thomas returned to the US Marines as a 2nd Lieutenant and served from 1951 to 1952 in Korea. Thomas was awarded a Silver Star and a second Purple Heart. In 1955 he graduated from Case Western Law School, moving back to South Florida in 1958 to raise his family. Thomas is survived by his wife of 58 years Constance Reid (nee Wright); son Charles Reid; daughters Sharon Reid-Schreiber and Carrie Reid-Levine; son-in-laws Gary Schreiber and Glenn Levine, grandchildren Reid and Brett Schreiber, Brittany and Logan Reid, and Connor Reid Levine. Thomas was a great Marine, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend, he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2007 from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the funeral home. Burial and full Military Honors will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
