I am seeking to correspond with descendants of John M. Reed (b June, 1840, Floyd Co.,VA; d Jan., 1920, Princeton, Mercer Co.,WV) and his wife Sophia (Underwood) Reed (b May, 1848, Floyd Co., VA; d Nov.,1919, Princeton, Mercer Co.,WV). Shortly after their Floyd Co., VA marriage in March, 1867, they moved on to Monroe Co., WV where they remained until around 1903 or so. Around that time, they moved to the Glen Lyn area of Giles Co., VA, stayed for several years and then spent their remaining years with their daughter and her husband in Princeton, Mercer Co., WV. Their children included the following: 1. Andrew Jackson "Jack" Reed (bc 1868, Monroe Co., WV; dc 1905 or so, Summers or McDowell Co., WV) 2. Joshua "Josh" Reed ( bc 1870, Monroe Co., WV; dc 1952, Princeton?, Mercer Co., WV) 3. Mary "Molly" (Reed) Karnes (bc 1872, Monroe Co., WV; dc 19??, Mercer Co., WV?) 4. Michael Elkaney "Kaney" Reed (bc 1874, Monroe Co., WV; dc 1949, Monroe Co., WV) 5. Josie (Reed) Francis (bc 1877, Monroe Co., WV; dc 19??, Monroe Co., WV?) 6. James Henry Reed (b April, 1884, Monroe Co., WV; d Feb., 1968, Mercer Co., WV ~ although a Giles Co. resident). Any information or data on the families of the children of John and Sophia (Underwood) Reed would be very much appreciated.
