I thought someone might be interested in this obituary for Francis REID, I have more information if anyone is interested. The late Mr. F. E REID The death occurred suddenly in the Maitland Hospital of Mr Francis Edward REID at the age of 88 years. Born at Maldan, near Picton, the late Mr REID spent most of his life on the land in the Camden district, and during the latter part of his life in the Scone and Maitland districts. His wife the late Catherine REID, predeceased him 10 years ago. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs A SAMS (East Maitland), Mrs R MILLER (Brushy Hill), and Mrs MORGAN (Sydney), Frances (Paterson), Sylvester (Scone), Leslie (Scone), Darcy (West Maitland), and Charles (Scone). Forty-seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, one sister of Molong, and one brother, Mr H REID of Sydney, also survive him. The funeral left the residence of his daughter, Mrs A Sams of East Maitland, for the East Maitland Roman Catholic Cemetery. The chief mourners were Frances, Darcy, Sylvester, and Charles (Sons), Mrs Miller and Mrs. Sams (Daughters), Mr A Sams and Mr Roy Miller (sons-in-law), Mrs Amelia and Ciss REID (daughter-in-laws), Robert and Leslie REID (grandsons), Cecil Sams (grandson), Vera and Bill Hammond (grand daughter and grandson-in-law), Doris, Peggy, Sheila and Nellie Sams, and a Miller (grand-daughters), Lillian Joass, Gladys, Vera, Ivy and Doris, Annie and Beryl (grand-daughters), Mr Darcy REID (son), Cecil Sams, Robert and Leslie REID (grandsons), acted as pallbearers. Wreaths were received from the following - Norah, Roy and Family, Mary, Aub and family, Frank, Amelia, Ivy, Vera and Doris, Syl, Ciss and family, grand-daughters. Gladys and great grandsons Len and Ray, Leslie, Annie and family, Bob, Beryl and family, Lily, Tom and family, West Maitland Council Electrical Dept., Mrs W. Hammond and family, Arthur Chinery. Many letters of sympathy and Mass tributes were also received.
