I'm seeking information on the descendants of a Michael M. Reed (c 1831 - 1912) who was born in, and died in, Floyd Co., VA. Some info that I've come across indicates that he was the son of an Andrew and Elizabeth Reed, that he married a couple of times- first to a Mary S. Black (in the 1860s~she died c1869) , and secondly to a Hannah Bowers around 1870. Michael and his family "apparently" lived for some time in the Burke's Fork area during the latter part e 1800s and probably attended the Pine Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Floyd, as this is where he and Hannah were buried.hat same period of time. Both Michael and (second). As a side note, it's also come to my attention that Michael's father died c 1845 and that he (Michael) may have went to live for a brief period of time (during the late 1850s or early 1860s) with friends or family in Rockingham Co., NC. It was here that he supposedly enlisted in Co. "A" of the 45th NC Inf. in 1861. He also seems to appear on a post-war roster the 45th "VA" infantry as well, but this "may" have been an error as he did move back to the Floyd Co. area during the mid-to-late 1860s. In any event, any info on his ancestors, family, descendants or his life in general would be very much appreciated. Correspondence with any of his descendants would also be welcomed. Thanks, Bob
