Friend: Please excuse if this is a duplicate response. My g g grandfather was MATTHEW REID, born TN, 1803. We do not know where, nor the names of his parents. A man by this name married HARRIET WALDING in Nashville in 1830. We are not certain that he is our ancestor. For sure our MATTHEW arrived later in 1830 in Hinds County, MS. If he had a wife, she must have died young, because a few years after 1830 he married again, to LETITIA JANE HOOTER. MATTHEW REID died in Yazoo County, Mississippi in 1868. We would be grateful for any assistance.
