His father was George James Lovelock and mother was Edithea, his sisters were Annie and Edith, who returned to England after Edithea died, but John remained in Canada where he was adopeted by the Reid family. Letters in my posession show John as being in Montreal in 1927 and Valois in 1931 when "Dad Reid" was seriously ill with cancer.
