Reid, Ed; The Vidette - August 29, 1940: 'Ed Reid - The body of Ed Reid, a former citizen of Iuka, was brought to Iuka on Southern train No. 36 Sunday, August 18th and interment was made that afternoon in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Mr. Reid died in a Memphis hospital from typhoid fever which he contracted near Blytheville, Ark., where he was engaged in the lumber business. He was about 54 years of age, and leaves a wife and several children. He was a brother of Mrs. Ed Bonds of Dennis, and a first cousin of Messrs Talmadge Houston and C. B. Reid and Miss Pearl Reid of Iuka. He was well known to older citizens of the town who knew him as a boy. Sources: The Vidette
