Arnold, On the census where the Head of household name would normaly be is "Estate of William Reid". It shows no numbers for family members,but in the last column with the heading "slaves" it shows 43. I gather he has died and the census bureau listed it that way so as to show the number of slaves living at that household. That is all I can tell you.
