Hi my name is Sherry Bonneau and I am trying to locate a marriage registration for William Henry Reid and Rebecca McGavin. I am looking for the names of their parents, and possible birth places of the bride and groom. If anyone can try and locate the registration for me I will greatly appreciate it. Or let me know where I can get it myself. The information is as follows: WILLIAM HENRY REID: Father Married Rebecca McGavin 24 November 1908, Manitoba ( we think in Winnipeg) I have their marriage certificate but it does not list their parents names. I wonder if they had to fill out a marriage license, and that could list their parents names and the bride and grooms places of birth. REBECCA MCGAVIN: Mother. She was born in 1870 we believe in Paisly Ontario. Her parents were JAMES MCGAVIN (changed from McGaan) and ELIZABETH WRIGHT. WILFRED HERBERT NORMAN REID: Born July 09 1909 in Winnipeg Manitoba. I have this birth certificate but does not list anything I can use to link the William Henry Reid that I have to the William that is on Wilfred's birth certificate. If I could locate a marriage license that maybe will have William's birth and parent information on it and compare it to the family line I have and if it's the same then I have the right line, and a whole lot of information. BUT I need to verify the William I have is the same guy! PLEASE can someone out there help me!!!!! CAN SOMEONE LOOK THE INFORMATION UP FOR ME? The father William Henry Reid left the family a short time after Wilfred was born. William returned to his family we believe who lived in Ontario.
