Dear List Members: This is my first time posting to the list. I am researching the Reid family from Tipperary, Ireland. The information I have, which has not been confirmed by proper records, is: Thomas REID (born 1812, Tipperary, Ireland, died 1895, I think in Ontario) married Elizabeth WANGHOP (died 1892, I think in Ontario) on December 8, 1835 at St. James Church, Toronto, Ontario. Thomas Reid had brothers named John C., William, James, Samuel and Joshua. Thomas came to Canada in 1831. His brothers, John, William and James followed sometime later. The children of Thomas and Elizabeth REID: James B. - born 1836 - Toronto, ON Thomas Freeman - born December 4, 1838, Etobicoke Township, York County (married Ellen LAMB, I believe of Toronto - this is possibly his second wife) William - born 1839, East Garafraxa (died young) John Clifford - born 1840, Etobicoke Township, York County, died 1925 Samuel -unknown birth year, born in East Garafraxa Hugh - unknown birth year, born in East Garafraxa, died 1890 Joshua - born 1849 in Garafraxa Robert - unknown birth year, born in Garafraxa, died 1889 Isaac - unknown birth year, born in Garafraxa Elizabeth - born around 1856 in Garafraxa (married Rev. Dr. Griffith) Also looking for information on William James REID, the son of Thomas Freeman Reid and Ellen Lamb. William James was born September 9, 1867 or 1868 in Orangeville, Ontario. He left Ontario and came out to Alberta where he joined the militia and was stationed at the Currie Barracks in Calgary. He married Jessie Drummond Lindsay of Glasgow, Scotland, on May 3, 1909 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. William and Jessie are my great grandparents. Is anyone else researching the same line?
