I am looking for descendents of Andrew Reid and Magdalene McDowell who lived in the Rockbridge area. Magdalene was born in 1755 and I do not know when Andrew was born. Any info at all will be appreciated, Thank, Fern

The Andrew Reid in question held the Rank of General and was for many years the clerk of Rockbridge Co., VA. He was born 13 February 1751 in Amherst Co., VA, to Andrew Reid, Jr. and Sarah Reid, both of whom were first cousins and neighbors to my ancestor Alexander Reid, Sr., of Amherst Co. Andrew Reid and Magalene McDowell were married 4 March 1776 in Rockbridge Co. and he died in October of 1837 in the same county.
