It is my understanding, however, that the Struan Robertson tartan is reserved for the clan Chief and his immediate family. Just as clansmen may use the clan badge surrounded by the belt and buckle but not the chief's arms, nor are we entitled to wear the 3 feathers in our bonnet, there are certain symbols reserved for use of the Chief only.
