Hi, I found reference to Joseph Reid, son of Thomas Reid, who left Inverness, Scotland for Botetourt Co. VA and eventually settled in Augusta Co. Va. Said to have a son Nathaniel who served in the American Revolution and was granted land in the Old Pendleton District of SC for his service in the book "The Nathan Reids of Virginia in the March of Freedom", by Elizabeth Reid Austin and Helen Reid Roberts.
