Alexander REID was my great grandfather on my father's side. Their son George was my grandfather who died in May 1981. Alexander immigrated to Australia in 1851 arriving in Sth Australia. I have shipping records that indicate that he travelled to Sth Australia with a wife named Jean. But by 1854 he had remarried to Hannah Mathieson after moving to Victoria, to whom he had those children you indicated. I have a copy of his marriage certificate to Hannah Mathieson. Alexander died at the age of 49 yrs, and Hannah (Annie) Mathieson went on to remarry herself to a widower named Roger Kenny and also raise several children from his marriage.
