Hello All. Wondering if any one has any information of the Reid Family from Scotland. My Grandfather was Walter Reid and married a Margaret or Maggie Houston approx. 1897, They had children James,William.Sarah.Margaret Elizabeth & Walter. I am sure they were all from Lanarkshire,Glasgow area. I am also looking for Crawford and Bulloch all from Scotland/ Any one has any info I would love to hear from you. Many Thanks. Heather

Hi all, My maternal g.grandfather George William Reid 1831-87 was Keeper of Prints and Drawings at the British Museum. His father George was anattendant in the same Dept and could well have become Keeper but died at 45 in 1843. He was bap at Folkestone Mar 1799 but it was recorded that he was born on 1st Aug 1798, the date of the Battle of the Nile There are no other Reid entries in the Folkestone reg for ten years either wy. His father, also George, "held an appointment at Dover Castle furing the wars with France". The family were reported as coming from the Dunkeld area but searches of the registers have not found any Reids bearing relevant christian names.
