One of the various Asas' descendents was prominent cartoonist Ace Reid, who lived and died near Kerrville, TX, a couple of decades ago. Incidentally, it is useful to note the ethnic background of people you are researching. Ace was Caucasian. WHR

But, I snooped and on some papers I found the name William Charles Zehms. I have tried since I was 16 years old to find out who I really am. I went as far as writing to a place in Washington, DC and still do not know who I really am, but I can only guess from what I have been told by relatives. My mother was really my mother.....she had me out of wedlock (illegitimately) and back in those days (1935) it was a disgrace. She got pregnant in Wisconsin....but moved to Illinois to have me. Her name was Edwarda Evelyn Jarvis. So, I believe that my REAL mother and father are Edwarda Evelyn Jarvis and Wiiliam Charles Zehms. Yes, I would love to find out as much as I can about my real parents and if, in fact, they really are. That means my grandmother on my mother's side would be Ella Margaret Larsen Jarvis. My grandfather on my mother's side would be Edward James Jarvis. I have tried to trace these grandparents but have not been able to find out anything.....not even if they are dead (which I know they are) or when they were born and where. All I know is what I have been told by relatives and sometimes they are different versions, so I really don't know when I have been told the truth. See......when I was taken out of the orphanage in Rogers Park, Illinois in 1940, I had the name of Wanda Reid. No one knows where the name Reid came from. When I started school and Brownie Scouts, I started as Wanda Reid. Then I became Wanda Reid Schramm.....then Wanda Mary Schramm - when my step-father supposedly adopted me. Actually, I do not even know that I was adopted for sure because I have never seen any records or papers. I don't even have any birth certificate. A mess, isn't it? I would love to know who I am and how I came to be!!! Oh yes, get this..........after snooping around alot, I found out that there was a little baby born on July 13, 1935 named Edwarda Ruth Jarvis and after trying to get a birth certificate on me, I found out that a Wanda Reid or Wanda Reid Scramm has NEVER been born. I AM NOT RELATED TO THE FAMILY, BETTY
