My address is 13090 Burgess Rd #7 Walker LA 70785. I have found some things but is all a jumbled mess to me right now...I'm new at this. I also made the mistake of working on my entire family tree instead of one family at a time. I have found some on the census, but I haven't found Maw Maw Ross on any....I would think she was born before 1930...maybe I am wrong. I have upto Sam Reid...I also have a Celestine? I think but I start getiing lost on which way the family goes at that. I found some things leading to an Indian tribe and then also to France...not sure which on is our group! I started working on this a long time ago. I had to stop for a few years. I have just started to pick up where I left off, a few weeks ago. If you send me your address I'll mail you some info. In the regular mail(with a stamp!!). Have you found any of them on any of the census sheets? I have alot of stuff that I'm unpacking so I'll send that as I unpack too. Otis Reid was Lema's (maw-maw ross')father. Seaborn Reid was Otis' brother. Sam Reid was Otis and Seaborn's father. Maw-Maw Ross said they called Seaborn "Uncle Seaby". Hope this helps. Jackie later marries Abram Barum (Barron/Baron/Barrom/Barom/Barrum depending on who recorded the record) and has one daughter named Susan. This is my annual plea -- hope that someone else will have encountered this family. WILLIAM REID (spelling is traditional in my family line, though found in 1850 census as Reed) b 1807, Kentucky married DOROTHY RAY DONALDSON (b 1814, Kentucky) in Mason County February 1830. (Her parents were found in COUSINS BY THE DOZEN, by Dr. Ivonel Gibbins) By 1834 William (known as PONY) and Dorothy (known as DOLLY) had migrated to Missouri. Children included: MARTHA JANE, b KY, 1832 (married John Strahm in DeKalb County, Missouri) FRANCIS, b KY, 1834 (Per 1850 census Francis was female; according to family history, Martha had a brother named Frank --) ELIZABETH, b MO, 1836 (Married Peter Lugenbule, John Strahm's cousin in DeKalb County 1855) MATILDA, b MO, 1840 AMANDA, b MO, 1842 WILLIAM, b MO, 1846 There were several land transactions in 1830s for William Reid -- Randolph County. 1850 William and children above in Andrew County, Missouri (Dorothy must be deceased -- haven't found grave.) 1860 Willam and children Matilda and William are in Denton County, Texas. They are just a few farms from John and Martha Jane Strahm and Peter and Elizabeth Lugenbule. John Strahm was killed in the Civil War. Martha Jane returned to Missouri -- Lawrence County and remarried. I've not found William Reid there About 1880 Martha Jane, her husband, her Strahm children and those with second husband moved to Washington State, then to Oregon and California. I've found descendants of Elizabeth Reid Lugenbule -- settled in Arkansas, but have never found anything about any of the other children of William and Dorothy Reid. Family legend is that William Reid was bred horses -- sold them to the Army during Civil War. (I don't know which army -- Union or Confederate.) After moving to California, Martha opened supported her family for some years running a livery stable. She apparently knew something about horses, so stories about William might have been true. If someone is keeping a database of Kentucky Reids/Reeds, I hope they've stumbled over this family. It is confusing because George Beckwith married Ida Bartlett, Carrie's sister. In my records I had George first married to a Carylon Bartlett which could be Carrie (Not sure where I got that information). Maybe they divorced after two months. The only way to be sure is to have someone living in Barron County to check the records. In 1900 Alex and Carrie are together in Stanley, Barron, Wisconsin.
