Hi all, Thought I would rewrite my family info again, maybe there are new people on the list who could be interested. . *ROBERT REID of Auchterarder (a bailiff), and Helen Paton (of Blackford) married on the 10th November 1816, Blackford, Perthshire Children of Robert Reid and Helen Paton were as follows... John Reid born in 1816, Auchterarder **James Reid born 26 aug, 1834 at "Papermill" Auchterarder, Perthshire, son of Robert Reid (a bailiff) and Helen Paton (I have found no record of any children born between the births of John and James) **JAMES REID (a gardener) married Elizabeth Taylor(servant) in the parish of Sudbury, county of Derbyshire England, on the 3rd October 1863 Children of James and Elizabeth, all born in England, were as follows. James born 1864 in Checkley Staffordshire ***John Robert Reid born 20 Dec 1865 in Wragby Yorkshire Helen born 1868 in Checkley Elizabeth born 1870 in Checkley Margaret born 1872 in Checkley ***John Robert Reid (a gardener) married Elizabeth Roe, in the parish of Glossop Derbyshire England, on the 23rd Dec. 1889. Children of John Robert Reid and Elizabeth Roe were as follows... Next door to them were John Reid and wife, Elizabeth. John Reid died before 1860 Census because his wife and children appear in the 1860 Census in Dawson County, Georgia. JH Dorsey came from Pickens County, SC. I am assuming Sarah and her brother, John Reid were also from Pickens. Sarah Reid was JH Dorsey's second wife. His first wife was Sarah Denney, d/o Joshua Denney. I am not looking for any Denney information because I am not related to them. I'm only interested in the Reid family. The couple were Caucasian, and had many Reid/Reed children, probably all in GA. We believe they lived in Jasper and Upson counties (GA), and perhaps Coweta (those county boundaries changed over the years), then moved to Tallapoosa Co., AL around 1840.
