Hi, I thought I would try once again to chip away at my Reid brick wall. James H. Reid born Jan. 29, 1842 probably Catawba Co., NC died Iredell Co., NC May 12, 1921. He was married to Fanny Rebecca Archer, 1867, his second wife (my line) Mary B. Washam, they married 1887. Have lots of information on him and all his children (both marriages) but very little on him. Believe his parents were William Reid and Susan (Susannah) Linebarger. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Barbara
Hello REID listers, I am looking for information on a Charles REID born in 1874/5 somewhere in Michigan. He moved to Colorado at some point in the 1890s and married and Edyth McCloy of Denver. They had several children including Geraldine Reid, John Grant Reid (born 1909), Gowan Reid and two sons named Charles Reid. I am having a hard time determining the names of Charles's parents names. According to the census of 1920 and 1910, Charles's father was either born in Minnesota or Wisconsin and his mother was born in Canada (of English descent). I would greatly appreciate any assistance that anyone could give me. Thank you. Jacqueline V. Reid ueline V. Reid

Hello, I would like contact with anyone who might also be researching my REIDS. My great grandfather James REID came from County Antrim, Ireland in l8l9 with his wife Jane and firstborn son John. James was born in County Antrim in l799 as was Jane. John was born in l8l8. Some of my information states James as being from Derry. I'm uncertain about this......perhaps their point of departure from Ireland was Londonderry??? James eventually obtained land in Waweig, Charlotte County, New Brunswick, Canada. He is supposed to have landed at a place called Sandy Point in Charlotte County. I wonder if, in fact they might have landed elswhere....say St. Andrews??? and they on to Sandy Point?? I'm really unsure of this. I do know that he was burried at Sandy Point. I have documentation in the form of a Land Petition dated l82l which states his being from St. Andrews and a native of Ireland and twenty-two years old, married and having two children by this time. I have plenty of documentation regarding the family from here on. I really want to know exactly where he and his family landed in Canada, what the name of their ship was and if there is any way of finding out if there was more family remaining in Ireland when he left. I don't know what Jane's maiden name was. A family member has suggested that it might have been CATHCART as there seems to have been much visiting back and forth among the REIDS and a family of that name, who knows??? Incidentally, James last child Samuel was my grandfather. He was born on the farm that James started just l00 years prior to my birth and in the same house which still stands today. I would be most happy to hear from anyone who thinks they might have a connection. Sylvia REID Talley
