Two cousins and I are still looking for contact with other descendants of the three known MASTERSON families of Lambertville, Hunterdon Co., NJ. A shortened Genealogy Report of my branch is below my signature. The other two will follow this email. Other surnames mentioned are: DEVER, HARRITY, LEWIS, REID, KILROY, MOONAN, CONGILIO, BRAHAN, McINTYRE, MANGAN, SCOTT, SKILLMAN, CAMPION, WILLIAMS We have a couple of problems with this family: (1) There appear to be two brothers, both named James, who both grew to adulthood and married an Ellen. (2) Some of the dates don't work for the marriage/birth of children/re-marriage of another brother. We're working on these, but it's still a slow process. Anyway, I have included what we know, even if it doesn't all make sense yet. If anyone is interested in my sources, please do drop me an email. Mary Jo C. My g g grandfather was MATTHEW REID, born 1803, somewhere in TN. He may have married HARRIET WALDING in Nashville in 1830. That same year he turns up in Hinds County, MS. Apparently Harriet died early. He was living near an older REID, by the name of JOHN REID. I suspect that they were brothers. We would be grateful for any help or suggestions. Sincerely, Harold Yazoo City, Mississippi

I was just wondering if anyone would have any family, marriage, burial or descendant info concerning a Luther Francis and his wife, Josie Reed Francis (bc 1877, Monroe Co., WV;d/o John M. Reed and Sophia Catherine Underwood Reed). In the 1900 census, they were just recently married and were (temporarily) living with her father's household, that of John M. Reed. Dear List Members: This is my first time posting to the list. I am researching the Reid family from Tipperary, Ireland. The information I have, which has not been confirmed by proper records, is: Thomas REID (born 1812, Tipperary, Ireland, died 1895, I think in Ontario) married Elizabeth WANGHOP (died 1892, I think in Ontario) on December 8, 1835 at St. James Church, Toronto, Ontario. Thomas Reid had brothers named John C., William, James, Samuel and Joshua. Thomas came to Canada in 1831. His brothers, John, William and James followed sometime later. The children of Thomas and Elizabeth REID: James B. - born 1836 - Toronto, ON Thomas Freeman - born December 4, 1838, Etobicoke Township, York County (married Ellen LAMB, I believe of Toronto - this is possibly his second wife) William - born 1839, East Garafraxa (died young) John Clifford - born 1840, Etobicoke Township, York County, died 1925 Samuel -unknown birth year, born in East Garafraxa Hugh - unknown birth year, born in East Garafraxa, died 1890 Joshua - born 1849 in Garafraxa Robert - unknown birth year, born in Garafraxa, died 1889 Isaac - unknown birth year, born in Garafraxa Elizabeth - born around 1856 in Garafraxa (married Rev. Dr. Griffith) Also looking for information on William James REID, the son of Thomas Freeman Reid and Ellen Lamb. William James was born September 9, 1867 or 1868 in Orangeville, Ontario. He left Ontario and came out to Alberta where he joined the militia and was stationed at the Currie Barracks in Calgary. He married Jessie Drummond Lindsay of Glasgow, Scotland, on May 3, 1909 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. William and Jessie are my great grandparents. Is anyone else researching the same line? Tammy Guldbransen [email protected]
I'm seeking ancestral information for an Elizabeth Irvine (bc 1808-1810, VA?) who married an Andrew Reed in then-Montgomery (present-day Floyd) Co., VA in December, 1827. Apparently this couple remained in Floyd Co. through at least the mid-1840s and had several children between the years of 1828 and 1844. Some of their children included: Mary Reed (bc 1828), Michael M. Reed (bc 1830), Margaret Reed (bc 1832), Fleming Reed (bc 1834), William Reed (bc 1839), John M. Reed (bc 1840), Andrew Reed (bc 1842) and Lewis Reed (bc 1844). Any info concerning the confirmed identity of Elizabeth (Irvine) Reed's parent, ancestors, etc. would be most appreciated. For that matter, I'd also be interested in corresponding with any confirmed descendant of Andrew and Elizabeth Reed, assuming that someone's been able to trace their ancestral roots back to this couple. Thanks very much, Bob
I just found this info. about Frank Reid. Doesn't someone know something about him? Reid attended the University of Michigan, fought Indians in Oregon, then settled there as a school teacher. During the Klondike gold rush, he helped found Skagway, then became immortalized when he shot the gangster Soapy Smith. He died of injuries from the same gun fight. > Does anyone have knowledge of Frank H. Reid who died in Skagway, Alaska on 20 July 1898 at age 54? > He died in a gun fight during the gold rush days.
