    1. Reids of Western Ky
    2. surely
    3. I have posted before but have been unable to locate any of my set of Reids. Hopefully this time perhaps someone different will see something they might have an idea about. My set of Reids came to western Ky and here are the parents names: Isam Reid (born about 1843 in NC??)(died in Lacenter KY about 1916) married to ? Sarah Martha Edwards and perhaps had another wife named Geraldine ??. I found these children listed to the first set of parents only. If he was married to another lady they may have had additional children, do not know. All of these children were shown born in Marshall county KY. Thanks Robin Holt Paducah KY Jim REID (AFN:3XC8-PV) Born: Abt. 1864 Mary Emoline REID (AFN:3XC6-T9) 1 Jan 1865 Mattie REID (AFN:3XC8-Q2) Abt. 1868 Cora REID (AFN:3XC8-R7 Abt. 1870 Philip REID (AFN:3XC8-SD) Abt. 1872 Phalander REID (AFN:3XC8-TK) Abt. 1874 George REID (AFN:3XC8-VQ) Abt. 1876 Henry REID (AFN:3XC8-WW) Abt. 1878 Randolph REID (AFN:3XC8-X3) Abt. 1880

    3. Hi Here is another family I found in the marriage and baptismal register for Waterside Presbyterian Church,Co.Londonderry, Northern Ireland. 1. KY - REID--ASH--TWADDELL
    2. nja
    3. Thomas D REID (b ca 1800) married Mary Ann Ash (b ca 1812 in England) ca 1833 in Hardin County KY. I do not know the name of Thomas Reid's father. Mary Ann ASH's father was Samuel Ash. The children of Mary Ann and Thomas REID were: Samuel P Reid; Martha Ann (Mattie) Reid; Louisa Reid; and Matilda Reid. Mattie Reid m. William Thomas HORN and after her death her sister Louisa became the second wife of 'Tom' HORN. There seems to be some connection between Mary Ann Ash and the Twaddell/Tweddell family. I believe Mary Ann (Ash) Reid may have married Micajah Twaddell after the death of her husband Thomas as she was found in one of the KY censuses to be in the household of Micajah Twaddell and sons (after the death of his wife Jane Pearpoint??) First, I would like to find the parentage of both Thomas D Reid and Mary Ann Ash, they could have both been from England. Next, I would like to have any information on the marriages of the children, son Samuel P Reid, and daughter Matilda Reid. Any information on the REID, ASH, and/or TWADDELL families relating to above will be most welcome. (The spelling of Reid could also be Read). Thanks for any responses. Norma.

    1. Emily Hester REID
    2. Vern. Dykstra
    3. I am seeking information about my grandmother Emily Hester Reid who was born about 1873 in Belfast, Ireland to John Reid (merchant) and Rachel (Maggs). I believe Emily was the youngest of six children. The other children (not necessarily in birth order) were Lydia, Harriet Anna, John, Minnie, & Joseph. Emily married Charles George McLaughlin in the Donegall Square Methodist Church in Belfast on 21 June 1897. They lived in Islington, London until 1920 when they and their family emigrated to Auckland, New Zealand. I understand that in the early 1900's Emily was secretary for the Women's Freedom League founded by suffragette Emmeline Pankhurst. Emily died in Auckland on 29 November 1939. Any assistance will be very much appreciated. TIA. Regards, Verran E Dykstra. in Auckland - the city of sails.

    1. Andrew Jackson Reed marriage record ~mid-1880s
    2. If anyone would have access to marriage records of Monroe Co., WV, I am seeking a marriage record or data concerning an Andrew Jackson ("Jack" or A.J.) Reed. He was born in Monroe Co., WV in 1868 and "apparently" married in Monroe Co. around 1886 or 1887. All info or data associated with this marriage record would be very much appreciated as he has been somewhat of a "brick wall" in our research to date. Thanks very much, Bob
