Hello, Can anyone tell me who were the parents of a Polly (probably Mary) Reid who married Samuel Wardlaw. In the book "Greenwood County Sketches", the following is on page 408: "Samuel Wardlaw married ______ Reid, three children: George Bowie, Elizabeth and Jane Wardlaw." [Samuel was the son of John Wardlaw, 1737-1791, a lieutenant in the Revolution.] Then, in the book "Abstracts of Ninety-Six District Wills", the following estate record is listed: Wardlaw, Polly, Box-97, Pack 2391, Will Dated November 6th,1813 in Abbeville Dist., Rec. Nov 15th 1813, Exr: David Wardlaw, Witnesses Hugh Wardlaw, Robert Wilson, Dowdle Wilson, Elizabeth Wilson. Widow of Samuel Wardlaw deceased, Children George, Betsey, Jenny W. Wardlaw, Invoice made Dec 1,1813, Buyers: William H. Barr, William Bowman, Andrew Stevenson, John Finley, John S., Rachel Miller, Hugh Reed William H. Barr (husband of Rebecca Reid) and her father, Hugh Reid, were buyers of the estate. Was there a family connection between this Polly Wardlaw, widow of Samuel, to Rebecca's parents, Hugh & Margaret (Reid) Reid. Thanks, Melvin

Hello Listers, We have just joined the list and are researching Reids from Kirkinner, Wigton and from Kirkcudbright, Scotland. Specifically, we are seeking information on Margaret Reid, who was born in 1819/1820 in Kirkinner, Wigtown County, Scotland. She married William Graham on December 01, 1840, in Minnigaff, Kirkcudbright. William Graham was born about 1820 - probably in Minnigaff (from census) Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland, but he was listed as being "of Carphairn" Minnigaff in the OPR marriage register. Margaret is referred as "from Minnigaff Parish" in the marriage record. Any assistance on finding information on siblings and parent of either of these folks would be very much appreciated. Jack & Cheryl Butler

Hello, Is anyone researching the George Reid line of Abbeville County, South Carolina. He died about 1790. In his will, dated 1786, he named six children: Rose Bowie, Ann Baskins, Margaret Reid (wife of Hugh Reid), Samuel Reid, Alexander Reid, and Joseph Reid. Can anyone tell me the dates of death and places of death for the three sons mentioned and also for the son-in-laws, John Bowie and Capt. William Baskins? Is there a will for these sons & sons-in-law? This information would be greatly appreciated. Mel
