Joseph Story JP was 35 when married to Caroline Sophia Kenneth Reid (19/7/1852) and they had several children - Robert, (b.1854), Louisa Fanny (b.1855), William Oswald (b.1859), Anna Josephine (b.1860), Edward Joseph (b.1862), Arthur Nevile John (b.1864), Evelyn James (b.1866), Frances Napier (b.1867), Charlotte Eliza (b.1869), & Florence Emily (b.1871), Several records show that their children attended College at Canynge Sq., Clifton, Gloucs and are listed as "Irish" in the Census of 1881 living in Gloucs. When Joseph Story died (d.27/11/1875) he left his inheritance to Caroline Sophia Kenneth (his widow). I would like to learn more about this Reid Connection to the Storys of Bingfield. "Storeys of Old" deals heavily with this marriage/alliance.

I am searching for more information on my Reid families. James H Reid b 1814 in Virginia, unknown what county. He was married to Sarah Ayers in Tazewell County, Illinois. They had 5 children there then moved to McCracken County, Ky and had 5 more children. From there they moved to Montgomery County, Kansas where they died. According to the Land Records James H Reid was a son of Jonathan Reid in Tazewell County, Illinois. a researcher sent me a record stating that Jonathan and Thomas Reid came from Indiana (unknown what county) to Illinois. Thomas died in Tazewell County and Jonathan moved on to other places unknown. I am assuming Jonathan Reid was born in Virginia since James H Reid was born there. Can anyone help me on Jonathan Reid. I do not have a birth date or death date for either of them. They did live in Oconee and Walhalla at some point and time. Their children were Mac, Gilford Lee (my father-in-law), Alice, Sophie, Myra. These are the ones that come to mind right now. I have been told that John donated the land that the Church of God was built on in Walhalla. Mack had several children; some of their names were Clifton, Alice Sue, George. One son died in a fire in his home, another son died in VA about 3 or 4 years ago. Lee Reid married Lily Leona Gillespie and their children are: Roy, Essie, Vera, Willie John, Pauline, Coy, Frances, Betty Fay and Joseph Waldo (my husband). Lee and Leona died in 1981 and 1982. I am trying to help my uncle, he was born in august 1923 and at 80 is running out of time to find lost relations. His mother left Scotland prior to his birth, she became pregnant and Andrew was born in Toronto Salvation army hospital on 2nd august 1923. He was shipped back to Scotland as a very young baby to live with relations, he was the youngest child to ever travel the alantic alone at that time and has a certificate to prove it! He was brought up with his cousins and the last they ever heard of his mother as the family didn't talk about it was that she had moved to Hamilton, Ontario and Oshawa and had married.He is desperate to fill in the missing bits and to be reunited with any brothers and sisters he may have. I have tried Toronto hospital but they lost their records in a fire in 1930. If you think you could point me in the right direction I would be really grateful as I'm running out of idea's. James Reid born Oct. 1777 in Polliwilline, Scotland. Married Margaret Reid Jan. 16, 1801 in Scotland. Margaret was born April 7, 1780 in Argylshire, Scotland. Came to the US on the ship 'Charlotte Harrison" in 1856. (Along with some of his sons.) They eventually settled the town of Argyl, Illinois. Their children were: Hugh, Jean, Margaret, James, John, Alexander, Janet, David, William, Andrew and Ann. James' parents were John Reid and Mary McFarland. Tracy

Hello , I'm new to this list and seeking any information on CHARLES SAMUEL REID of Middlesex England married 1835 to Hellen Clements. Hellen/Ellen had a son James Thomas Clements born illegitamite 1831/2. Charles and Hellen may have had a daughter Mary b about 1840.She married a Thomas Gullett.They lived in Newington in 1871.Any help would be appreciated as I have only just found out about these other names in my Clements line.
