    3. Do you or Stan have a Tom or Thomas Reid in your Reid data base? My gr grandmother, Willie Alice Reid, was his daughter. She was born in 1864 likely in Ga as it states on the 1870 census living with a Widow Satterfield. The story she told my mother was that she and her brother went west on a wagon train with their parents. When it was attacked by Indians, both her parents were killed. She and her brother were brought back to Greenville, SC where one family took her and another family took her brother. She never saw her brother again. She married my gr grandfather Thomas Ansel Ferguson at age 14 and was disowned by her adoptive family. Their son Martin Luther Ferguson was my grandfather. He was already 60 when I was born, was a quiet man who didn't say much as I remember. (He was educated and could do art work with Calligraphy. I have a copy of a birthday card he did for my grandmother in the 1940s). I surely would love to find a trace of Willie Alice's parents. I assume they are buried wherever the attack took place, so I don't think their graves could ever be found. If anyone knows a way to tell what wagon trains left Greenville, SC or SC period from late 1860s, please let me know. There is also the possibly they were already in Kansas or Missouri and left there, but sent back with someone coming to Greenville. Thanks. 2. Friend: Please excuse if this is a duplicate response. My g g grandfather was MATTHEW REID, born TN, 1803. We do not know where, nor the names of his parents. A man by this name married HARRIET WALDING in Nashville in 1830. We are not certain that he is our ancestor. For sure our MATTHEW arrived later in 1830 in Hinds County, MS. If he had a wife, she must have died young, because a few years after 1830 he married again, to LETITIA JANE HOOTER. MATTHEW REID died in Yazoo County, Mississippi in 1868. We would be grateful for any assistance.
