In 1989 I had an opportunity to spend a couple of days at the Georgia Dept. of Archives and History in Atlanta. The collection was well indexed and the staff very friendly and helpful. One series of their records pertains to the 1832 Gold Lotteries of land in which a number of individuals having REAVES, REEVE, REEVES, REIVERS, REAVIS, & REIVES surnames appear as "winners". The Section, District, Lot, & Lot Order for each winner's tract is given and its description and survey is shown in the well organized microfilm collection. Coleman REEVES was listed as a winner in Section 2, District 21, Lot 0982. There was no survey. Other REEVES winners for Section 2, District 21 were: Lucins, Lot 0208, not surveyed; & Martin H., Lot 0456. Also a winner for Section 2, District 21: John S. REIVES, Lot 0288. There's no indication that this Coleman is James Coleman--but, thought you'd like to have the datum. By the way, I made notes on 4 Sections and don't remember if there were more.
