>Here is what I know. His name was O. Knox Reeves and he owned an >advertising agency in Minneapolis, Minnesota and did a lot of work for >General Mills. He coined the Wheaties trademark slogan mentioned above on >the spur of the moment. I did not find a birth or marriage record for him, >but found him in the Minnesota Death Index. O. Knox Reeves died on >November >15, 1936 in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. He was buried in the >Acacia Park Cemetery in Dakota County, Minnesota. > >If anyone knows anything more about this person, I would appreciate it very >much if you would help me out. > >Thanks, >Barry Reeves I would suggest to the History Channel that they obtain a copy of his death certificate. The death certificate may contain information that is not in the index (this was the case for a 1933 certificate that I ordered). Also, I found him in the 1930 census by searching on the first name Knox (there are a surprising number of people named Knox across the country that year, but not too many in Minnesota!), and his last name was mistranscribed as Reever. The entry is: 87 N. Prior Ave, St. Paul: Reeves Knox head $40 45 M 30 MN MN MN advertising man refrigerators, Elizabeth wife 36 saleslady retail book, Jane dau 10 After that heady success ;>) I found him in 1920 indexed as Resner.... 775 Fairmont Ave, St. Paul, St. Paul: Reeves Knox head 26 IA IA IA asst. mgr paper, Elizabeth wife 24 MN NY NY, Jane dau 9/12 MN IA MN, Dolezal Francis J brother-in-law 30 im 1904 nat 1917 Austria Bohemia Bohemia accountant, Jeannette sister-in-law MN NY NY I'm guessing that Iowa is correct, rather than Minnesota. Birth records there, and marriage records in St. Paul should be helpful. Can't be many people named Dolezal getting married, so should be possible to track down Elizabeth's birth name that way.... --Anne
