    2. Does anyone know the John Reeves who married Mary Dill, daughter of Thomas Dill of Dillsburg, PA abt 1800? The Dill family is easy to trace, there are so many John Reeve and there is no exact trace of him. Perhaps he is the John Reeves who died in Indiana same as Mary (Lafayette) abt 1840's? I am of the Dill and Reeves families, both. the Reeves I have traced backward from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, PA., Delaware, Ireland, England. [email protected]

    3. I was the one that proposed the theory that this John Reeves, native of PA (abt 1780-bef 1850) may be the husband of Mary (Dill) who died somewhere in the Lafayette, IN area abt 1840. There is a John Reeves on the tax list of 1801 in Sunfish twp, Ross (now Pike Co), OH which may be this family. Census records for 1820 list a John Reeves. Later census records list several John Reeves in Ross, Pike, and Fairfield Counties. At some time in the late 1830's he migrated to Fountain Co, then possibly Indepenence, Warren Co, then finally Westpoint, Tippecanoe Co, IN area. I suspect that John is somehow related to the prominent Nathan/Nathaniel Reeves who married Anne Doddridge and who lived on Zane's Trace (forever recorded by Cumrine in 1806). There is an historical (Nathaniel) Reeves'Crossing (on Paint Creek) now Rt 50 between Bainbridge and Bourneville below Chillicothe, OH. There is also the Seip Dill Indian (burial) Mound there and the town of Dils/Dill, OH. I am researching all Reeves in Southern Ohio in the 1750's to the 1830's to see which families emigrated from the Eastern seaboard states. I am now working on the theory that John Reeves declared himself a Virginian (in today's Wash Co, PA) since Gov Dinwiddie was selling the same PA land at a cheaper price and many families appear in this area: Dill, Doddridge, Reeves, Teeter, Wells,
