Dena, What is your line? You had a gggrandfather in England by the name of Reeves. Now was Anna a daughter? Then she had a son that had a son and then you? Have you tried to make contact with someone in England? There is a list [email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) that you could join that might be of some help.. I am trying to research my gggrandmother. Who I was told came from Germany, but I am trying to research the area she was living and trying to find a clue to her family. As I only have her name and it may have been changed when she came over. You really have to dig to get info like this and sometimes it just doesn't seen to be there. I do feel for you as it is a hard to try to knock down brick walls but sometimes it can be done. Takes time and a little luck to make it happen. Look for newspaper clippings, tax records, school records, church records, cemetery listings. There are many things to look for and it takes so much time. Because isnt the test using mitochondrial DNA? And that has to go through an unbroken female line. I would love to trace my Reeves heritage however. Since all I really know is my GGGrandpa, Edward Reeves was born in England, in approx 1818. He married "Sarah Puncher" (perhaps really Punchard) Perhaps in Suffolk Co. Then they went to Kansas. The trail ends there.
