June 16, 1902 This land was divided into three counties, Wayne, Wilkinson and Baldwin. Those entitled to draw were every free white male twenty-one years and upwards, and an inhabitant of the state twelve months immediately preceding the passage of this act, who had paid tax, one draw; every free white male having a wife and one or more legitimate children, two draws; all widows having legitimate child or children, two draws; all families of orphans having no parents living, two draws.

I recently found out that my G-Grandfather had 2 families, one in the Johnston County, North Carolina area, the other in the Dillon, South Carolina, area. I'm not sure what his name is, but he apparently used similar names for both sets of children. I'm descended from his Son, James Walter Reaves. If anyone has any info, let me know.
