This is wonderful news. It proves that testing with the DNA program can make a big difference in finding your family. I hope we will have more working together as time goes by as we have more matches in our DNA project. I know we have the ability to achieve great results. Just remember the more Reeves that join our DNA program the more positive results we will have. So I am again asking everyone that has someone in their family that is a direct male descendant to consider joining our project. We are still in the position to help two Reeves with 50% of the 25 marker test. Hoping someday my group can make plans to meet in Guilford Co., NC. Wouldn't that be great. But the greatest thing would be if all our DNA participants could have a match with others in the program. I think it is true that none of us really knew about the others in our group before we had the DNA testing. I did know of Barry but not that we descended from the same family line. If any other group has been working and planning on meeting we would like to hear from you. Beulah In a message dated 9/17/2007 9:24:03 A.M. Anyone interested in the heritage of this line of Reeves family is welcome. Date Oct 20, 2007 starting at 10:00. Through the Reeves Surname project we have confirmed the descendants of Richard Elwell Reeves b 1788 Cumberland Co NC d 1790 TN and Micajah Reeves b 1796 d 1848, and Jesse Reeves b 1800 Siloam d TN. We may well have all lines represented of John D's for the first time since 1820's. Billy Fred Reeves and I are very excited having worked on this for some time. Without the Reeves Surname DNA effort it would not have happened. This story is quite interesting with a number or surprises. I look forward to meeting Billy Fred Reeves and others for the first time! Please respond to me for details! Beulah, I would love to participate in the DNA testing, but I don't know any of my male Reeves cousins--if any exist. I can trace my line back to my great great great (I think that is the right number of greats) grandfather, Archibald T. Reeves/Reaves. According to the 1860 census of Rockdale, Randolph Co., AL, he was born in ca. 1816 in Georgia. Archibald may have been the son of Burgess Reeves/Reaves who was also living about 15 miles away in Randolph Co., AL in 1860. Do you know of anyone who has tested in this line?
