Diane , There are a couple of things to think about. Your Archibald T. is almost certainly the son of Burgess Reeves b. 1794. Burgess is also the father of a Thompson Reeves b. ca 1830 ( not my Thompson of 1799 but probably his nephew.) This Thompson the son of Burgess and brother to Archibald T. does have someone who sent in their DNA. He is Robert Reeves who is still alive. In fact he will celebrate his 100th birthday this month in Oklahoma. Robert is the son of Columbus Marion Reeves b. 1871 and grandson of Thompson Reeves b. 1832 and great grandson of Burgess Reeves b. 1794. Like you Linda Leedon did not have a direct line except for her uncle Robert in Oklahoma. She knew him well and he very willingly contributed his DNA. If you look in group # 3 you will see the dna reports of Robert as well as for my Nephew Stephen Gregory Reeves shown. Stephen and I do not descend from Burgess but I know that we descend from Thompson Reeves b. 1799. So we won't have a perfect match until we prove for sure who the parents of Burgess b. 1794 and Thompson b. 1799 are. The numbers for Stephen and Robert are quite close as you can see. We have only one or two numbers away. Yours would probably be more like Robert's.as a Burgess Reeves descendant. Would you tell us again how your line goes up from yourself? I will paste below what I believe is right for Burgess. Burgess lost about 10 sons in the Cival War. Descendants of Burgess Reeves Generation No. 1 1. BURGESS3 REEVES (PROPOSED JOHN2, WILLIAM1) was born 1794 in Pendleton Dist. S. Carolina. He married ELIZABETH TANNER 20 Jul 1815 in Jackson County Georgia. She was born 1799 in Georgia. Hi Tommie, Do you think that your Thompson and Burgess are brothers? I agree with you that Burgess is probably the father of my Archibald T. Reeves, but I haven't documented that relationship. How do I access the DNA results? My Reeves line goes from me to my mother, Helaine Timm Plewe, b. 30 Aug 1924, Riverside, Riverside Co., CA, d. 25 Nov 1995, Delavan, Walworth Co. WI -Grandmother, Alberta Crow Timm, b. 22 Oct 1903, Texas (possibly Childress Co., TX), d. 13 Nov 1996, Huntington Beach, Orange Co., CA -Great grandmother, Martha Jane Griffin Crow, b. 29 May 1876, (possibly Randolph Co., Alabama) d. 2 July 1951, Yuma, Yuma Co., AZ -Great great grandmother, Maretta Jane Reeves Griffin, b. 10 Dec 1849, Covington, Newton Co., GA, d. 15 Jan 1935, San Diego, San Diego Co., CA -Great great great grandfather, Archibald T. Reeves, b. ca 1816, Gwinett Co., GA, d. unknown--buried in Liberty Grove Church Cemetery, Randolph Co., Alabama. You and someone on rootsweb have Archibald dying in TX, but I'm pretty sure he died in Randolph Co., Alabama. I found a picture of his headstone and some information about him on findagrave.com. Archibald was also in the Civil War. He fought with the 1st Alabama Cavalry for the Union side. Do you know which one of Archibald's children that Linda Leedon descended from? Thanks for all the help you've given me, Tommie!
