If this Burgess is the same as the one in Pendleton District, I want you ask if you will attempt to find either a brother, son, or any relative named ASA. They were (Wiley, Burgess, Asa, ... John Mauldin, etc.) all on the Pickens Census (or Old Ninety-Six) and for this reason I feel they were all related. Wiley's son, Levi and Asa's son, Asa, went into army (Civil War) on same date at same place. Have an ASA ....Born abt 1776 in SC...died Clay Co. Tn. 1870. father maybe Daniel and grandfather, John, all born in S.C, All three died in Tn. Asa married Annie Ferguson, daughter of William and Mourning Ferguson. She died enroute to Tn. Asa married a second time to a Mary Polly Moore in Tennessee. demona@arkd.net
