I subscribe to lists with the different spellings of Reeves and thought it might be helpful to post them to our list. It may or may not ring a bell for some of our subscribers. Most lists at the moment are quiet so not much coming through. If most subscribers subscribe to these lists I don't want to crowd anyone mail boxes. If there are a lot of complaints about receiving these posts twice I will stop. Cemetery Records of Boone County, Missouri Part I Volume II There is a Sophia Reavis from England. Arrival Date: 30 May 1851 Estimated birth year: abt 1843 (could it be 1834?). Age: 8 Port of Departure: Liverpool, England. "Jones B. Reavis in a few years after came out to Missouri, the year previous to his parents, in 1819, to Saline county, and finally moved to Boone county. He was married in Boone county in 1823 to Miss Hannah Morton, who was on a visit to see relatives, of Woodford county, Ky. In 1830 he removed to Monroe county, where he became a farmer and stock-raiser, and resided here until his death, which was in 1858. He was a man of industry and intelligence and was highly respected in this county. His wife died in 1871. They had a family of 11 children, five now living: Thomas M. Reavis, of Monroe county; James O. Reavis, Mrs. Bartlett Roselle (Russell), David M. Reavis, Andrew Reavis, of California." Written long ago. All of these people are accounted for. James O. Reavis was my great-grandfather mentioned above. Not sure is that is helpful. It is hard to line up the information with the dates. Yours - Daniel.
